Title: Introduction to Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Overall Conference Description:
A brief introduction and overview into ACT. ACT is a well-researched therapeutic intervention with strong supportive evidence and high positive outcomes in numerous studies and science back evaluations. This presentation, given its length of time, will introduce the concepts of ACT for clinical staff not familiar with it. The goal is for attendees to have a basic understanding of ACT concepts and if interested follow up with more intensive interest and full certification.
Objectives:
Attendees will be able to:
1. Describe basic overview of ACT
2. Develop a basic understanding of ACT’s Hexaflex model including ACTS 6 core Process resulting in psychological flexibility.
3. Compare ACT to other modalities and understand how ACT can utilize other exiting interventions and is not in conflict with other modalities.
