For over a decade, Skin Check Champions have been flying the flag for the early detection of skin cancer - especially for those who need it most. Since losing a mate to melanoma, we’ve checked over 36,000 people in the deserts, paddocks, pitches and beaches all around Australia - but it's time to bring things home to celebrate an exciting new milestone...
The Breakfast of Champions isn't your average event. It'll be a first-class gathering of the region’s champions, industry leaders and community giants. A wonderful way to network, be inspired - all while supporting a 'life saving' charity headquartered just up the road in Wombarra.
A FEAST OVER FIRE:
An exceptional, open-air (long) breakfast by Earth Walker & Co. - breakfast icons. Think seasonal, wood-fired local produce, mouth watering flavours, delicious coffee (and some cheeky breakfast cocktails) prepared right there on the beach.
SPECTACULAR SETTING:
We’re teaming up with South Coast Tipis to create the best room in the Illawarra - on the grass alongside the Coledale Surf Club - looking out to the sunrise & surf we know and love. Nestled outside will be the almighty Silver Bullet and our pair of Defenders, offering free skin checks throughout the event to fundraisers and sponsors.
THE GUEST LIST:
Join the founder Scott Maggs, ambassador Deborah Hutton OAM, Lord Mayor Tania Brown, and many more champions of our region as we mark a national milestone.
THE LAUNCH:
Be the first to trial and test our new national tech platform we’ve been working on right here in the region—technology designed to help you and your network find skin cancer before it becomes deadly.
THE DETAILS:
Date: Thursday, 26 February 2026 (National Skin Check Day)
6 - 8:30 AM: Sunrise surf, yoga and breath-work
9:00 AM: The Fire-Feast begins.
9:30 AM: Official Ceremony & National Tech Launch.
12:30 PM finish with the potential for afters (before school / daycare pick-up)
Location: Coledale Beach Reserve (South side of the Surf Club).
WHY IT MATTERS:
Skin cancer is likely to affect 2 in 3 Australians and kills one of us every six hours. It is indiscriminate, brutal, but 98% of the time - if you find it early enough - it can be treatable. By being in this room, you aren't just attending an event—you are fuelling a movement based in the 2515 and is now saving lives right around the world.
