The Border – an award-winning Russian anti-war self-confession in WeHo!West Hollywood, California – city of West Hollywood and non-profit theatre RimoVision Group present The Border play 2024 run in Fiesta Hall at Plummer Park. The one-person play is written by Sergei Davydov, directed by Ray Hanna, starring Misha Suvorov and is a part of ‘Theatre against the war’ movement.
The Border is a dramatic poem crafted using the auto fictional method. The plot unfolds during the fullscale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The main character, a young man from Moscow, opposes the war. To avoid becoming a victim of repression, he is forced to leave the country.
However, his plans are shattered when he learns that his mother, who lives in a war zone on the border of two countries, is suffering a heart attack. Amidst the bombings, the characters are forced to find ways of reconciliation and forgiveness in war and dictatorship.
The premiere of ‘The Border’ at the Hollywood Fringe Festival turned out to be a powerful theatrical event, captivating audiences with its relevance and depth of theme. The show was nominated Best of The Actor’s Company Hollywood Fringe 2024 award.
Furthermore, the City of West Hollywood has selected The Border to sponsor through Russian culture program and The Border runs at Fiesta Hall in The Plummer Park 2024 fall-winter season.
