This charted in July and became the monster hit that launched the Shadows instrumental career and founded a nation of bespectacled guitarists dreaming of acquiring their very own Fender Stratocaster and stepping out into the glaring spotlight of stardom.
Originally Cliff's backing band it didn't take the group time find a winning hit formula (and the Shadows synchronised guitar walk) chalking up 33 hits and another 35 with Sir Cliff.
