The Board Is Set, The Pieces Are Moving: A Good vs Evil MESBG Tournament

We come to it now, the great battle of our time -- will the forces of Good prevail over the armies of the Dark Lord?

You must bring two 500-point armies to this event -- one good and one evil. Each list should separately meet all of the usual Matched Play rules for army building.

Please bring appropriate dice and measuring tape, and some form of rules and associated errata/FAQs for your chosen army (paper or digital). Models should be painted and based to a minimum standard. Additionally, please do not include Tom Bombadil or Goldberry in your lists!

Note: depending on whether you are using an updated copy of the MESBG Rules Manual we will be using both the August 2022 FAQ and the most up-to-date 2023/2024 FAQ. The August 2022 FAQ is available at https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/8EgAyDY7bFtl0fAK.pdf. If you have a copy of the updated rules manual you will only need to use the latest FAQ, as the removal of most of the errata/FAQs from the document are due to them being reflected in the new printing.

The day will consist of two games using the Matched Play guide and scenario pool. In each game there will be two "rounds" -- you will play the same opponent twice in the same scenario, using both of your armies in two separate rounds of good vs evil. Victory Points and VP differences, leaders killed, etc., will be recorded from both games and their combined results used to determine the tournament results.

Open Doors/ Registration: 09:00

Game 1: 09:30 - 12:45

(Round 1: 9:30 - 11:00; Round 2: 11:15 - 12:45)

Lunch break: 12:45 - 13:45

Game 2: 13:45 - 17:00

(Round 1: 13:45 - 15:15; Round 2: 15:30 - 17:00)

Final results and awards - 17:00 - 17:30

(Note that game timings are the more important set of times -- you and your opponent may find you would like one round to run longer than the suggested times for a round within a game; this is fine so long as the two rounds combined finish on time, so you will have to make up the time in your second round!)
