Rae is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer combining pop sensibility with folk roots to tell intimate stories driven by evocative melodies. With a voice likened to Amy Winehouse and Brandi Carlile’s lovechild, Rae learned young to let nature animate her music, expressing themes of love, loss, and renewal through metaphors of the natural world, keeping empathy and self-awareness at the heart of every song.Heavy Bloom is an alternative RnB band based out of Seattle, WA. The vocally driven group is equal parts RnB, Soul, and Pop producing a fresh and enticing sound. Their unique approach to music production attracts a wide audience - from those seeking the familiar to those craving something new. Heavy Bloom released their debut, self-titled EP on October 27th, 2023. They are in the process of recording several singles to be released in 2024.
While the band officially formed in early 2023, Heavy Bloom originally began in a tiny, over-priced, one-bedroom apartment on the north end of Capitol Hill. The apartment building was a quick construction for the 1962 World Fair in Seattle so it wasn’t pretty, but at least it had a pool in the basement. Joji and Jeanie were in Hard Maybe (fka Motus) when they composed their first song together called “Fig.” A few years went by and they moved to a slightly-nicer-yet-still-over-priced unit down the street at Summit and Mercer, where Jeanie composed "Ambiguous," “Bitter Love,” and “No Matter What." After that, they brought Cory on bass Demarcus on guitar, and Jacob on keys; the rest is history.
