Buddha Prajnaparamita is the manifestation of the perfection of wisdom of all Buddhas. She appears in a peaceful aspect, displaying the Perfection of Wisdom sutra, indicating her power to lead all living beings to Great Enlightenment.

The function of Prajnaparamita is to destroy maras - living beings’ obstacles to spiritual realizations. "If we are to attain temporary happiness while we remain in samsara, and if we are to progress unimpeded towards the ultimate happiness of liberation and enlightenment, we need a special method for averting and overcoming hindrances in general, and the four maras in particular." - from New Heart of Wisdom by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

The empowerment is a guided meditation through which we connect to Buddha Prajnaparamita’s enlightened mind. By receiving these inspiring blessings, we can develop our own potential for a fearless heart and gain the confidence we need to progress along the spiritual path. Through the power of our continued practice and Prajnaparamita's blessings we can cultivate the courageous compassion of a Bodhisattva, someone who can bring enormous relief to our suffering world.

2:30 PM – 3:45 PM – Commentary to the Practice of The Great Mother

4:15 PM – 5:15 PM – The Great Mother Practice (Guided)

About the Teacher

Kadam Keli Vaughan is the Resident Teacher at Mahakankala Kadampa Buddhist Center in Santa Barbara. Kadam Keli is a long-time student and disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. She presents Buddha’s teachings in a practical and accessible way, showing how to use meditation to transform our ordinary life into a meaningful life.
