Konstfacks andraårselever på Grafisk formgivning & Illustration önskar er varmt välkomna på releasefest för publikationen "The Black Beach 20.12.24" torsdagen den 27:e februari, kl. 18:00 på Crum Heaven!"The Black Beach 20.12.24" skapades under en fem veckor lång redaktionell kurs, ledd av gästlärare Oskar Laurin. Publikationen är inspirerad av Salad Hilowle och Christian Rossipals konstnärliga forskningsprojekt "The Black Beach – Visual Archives Between Swedish and Caribbean Horizons". Salad och Chrstian har kombinerat historisk- samt konstnärlig forskning för att porträttera livet på tidigare svenska kolonin Saint-Barthélemy. Vi fick äran att ta del av arkivet – en uppsjö av historier, texter, skissblock, filmer och verk som öppnade våra ögon. Forskningsprojektet består även av dokumentation ifrån Salad och Christians konstnärliga samarbeten och texter kopplade till dessa. Båda underströk vikten av samarbete i konstnärliga projekt, och gav oss fria händer att göra en remix av allt material, med målet att fylla luckor i arkivet. Genom redaktionella beslut, samarbete och deras tillit, föddes publikationen "The Black Beach 20.12.24".

Konstfack’s second-year students in Graphic Design & Illustration warmly invite you to the release party for the publication "The Black Beach 20.12.24" on Thursday, February 27th, 18:00 at Crum Heaven!
"The Black Beach 20.12.24" was created during a five-week editorial course led by guest teacher Oskar Laurin. The publication is inspired by Salad Hilowle and Christian Rossipal’s artistic research project "The Black Beach – Visual Archives Between Swedish and Caribbean Horizons". Salad and Christian have combined historical and artistic research to portray life on the former Swedish colony of Saint-Barthélemy. We had the honor of being part of the archive – a wealth of stories, texts, sketchbooks, films, and works that opened our eyes. The research project also includes documentation from Salad and Christian’s artistic collaborations and texts related to these. Both emphasized the importance of collaboration in artistic projects and gave us the freedom to remix all the material, aiming to fill gaps in the archive. Through editorial decisions, collaboration, and their trust, the publication "The Black Beach 20.12.24" was born.
