Mike was born in Hertford and has been bird watching in Hertfordshire since he was twelve years old. Rare Hertfordshire birds found by Mike include Great Reed Warbler, Corncrake and Montagu’s Harrier. He was county recorder for approximately five years and now is a committee member of the Herts. Bird Club and secretary of the Rare Birds Panel.
Mike is co-author of Birds of Hertfordshire, published in 2015, and is involved with bird surveys, particularly in the north of the county where his expertise and knowledge is second to none.
He will be talking about changes in our avian fauna seen since ‘Birds of Hertfordshire’ was published.
This talk is a ‘must’ for anybody interested in our local birdlife.
