THE BIG REVEAL: Atlanta Collage Society’s Community EventThe Atlanta Collage Society (ACS) currently has a show, "Cutting Loose: the Art of Collage," at the Alpharetta Arts Center that features 106 works of art. On Friday evening, September 19, ACS will add another 399 pieces to the exhibit! W-H-A-T? How is that even possible?
In partnership with the Alpharetta Arts Center and Arts Alpharetta, the Atlanta Collage Society will host a community engagement event on Friday, September 19 between 7 and 9:30 pm at the Arts Center. Held concurrently with an Eclectic Lawn Concert that evening, members of the Atlanta Collage Society have prepared components of a 6 X 6-foot collage made up of 33 dozen individual canvases - each of which is a 3-inch square that has been collaged by the participating artists. Separately, each small collage is a work of art. Collectively, they re-create a famous painting from the 20th century. The identity of the large image will reveal itself during the assemblage process. Atlanta Collage invites all concert guests - all ages! - to participate in this fun hands-on event. Additional parking at 192 Mayfield Road. Free to public!
