About this Event
The Big Plan approach gives people the chance to come together, think holistically and plan for a good life in the company of other people involved in their lives including friends, support workers, allied health therapists, family members, support providers and support coordinators.
The Big Plan is a proactive way to:
- Connect people to their communities
- Include people in decision making and planning
- Help people to figure out what they want from life
- Support people to make lasting friendships
- Build confidence by supporting people to think about their skills and talents
- Bring people together to share their ideas and knowledge
- Consider future work opportunities
The Big Plan is based on the unwavering belief that everyone has something to contribute to their communities.
It starts by asking this question:
“What would it take for this young person to have an interesting, fulfilling life where they can meet people who may become their friends and make their contribution to their local community?”
During the workshops, families, supporters and service providers will learn about the process of coming together and engaging in person centred planning through guided conversations and reflections.
