Join us in encouraging the growth and innovation of emerging businesses within the Thompson Country Region! We are thrilled to host The BIG Pitch, a dynamic event designed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in our community. This competition offers early-stage entrepreneurs a rare and exciting opportunity to present their concepts to a diverse panel of local business professionals. Participants will receive invaluable feedback, gain significant exposure, and vie for the grand prize of $5,000, sponsored by Venture Kamloops and Community Futures Thompson Country, a financial boost that could propel their business to the next level, and People’s Choice earning beneficial mentorship hours from established business, Angie Olson Business Coach & Consultant.
Our competition follows the Dragon’s Den style. Participants will engage in the initial closed-door pitch, having the unique opportunity to showcase their concepts to a panel of seasoned experts. The finalists chosen from the first round will then move forward to the live pitch in front of an audience, where the judges pick a final winner, and the audience will vote for People’s Choice. Simultaneously, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a business support services tradeshow will be held in the adjacent room where mature business owners and entrepreneurs can receive various information from mixed entrepreneurial support organizations!
The BIG Pitch is open to entrepreneurs and small business owners of Kamloops, Sun Peaks, Westwold, Vavenby, Pritchard, McLure, Little Fort, Clearwater, Chase, Blue River, Barriere, and Avola.
This free community event is for all ages, and we warmly invite all residents to participate in the fun. Plus, a coffee bar will be available to energize everyone throughout the day!
