About this Event
This talk will focus on preparatory painting sketches, paintings done quickly in one session (premier coup) and works that explore a single color or dominant “key”. Artists have made such work almost since painting began. They sought freshness of paint application, and a general effect in response to what they saw. This talk will enhance your enjoyment of such qualities when looking at works of art.
Robert Bunkin is a painter, curator, art historian and educator, with a BS from CUNY and an MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. He has taught art history and studio art in several NYC art schools, universities, colleges and museums.
*This event will take place in person at Hudson Park Library. Space is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
