For eight years ‘The LoD’ ran the best (only) alternative comedy night in Liverpool…they were even selected to represent Liverpool in the Sketch Fest Competition *.
They were defeated by Phil Wang and a very clever sketch about Caesar Salad.**
Unable to live with the shame they disbanded.
Then they reformed, then there was a pandemic…but now…they are back!***

*kind of, we paid them to let us in. Worst £25 we ever spent. And we’ve bought cigarettes.
***it’s wasn’t…with the best will in the world it was utterly feeble. It was about Caesar right, and he’s on his deathbed and he’s saying what will I be remembered for? crossing the Rubicon? The conquest of Gaul? The operation? No the salad. That was it, that was the punchline. So yeah, we got beat by them. But we’re over it. Phil Wang had agent but was in an unsigned act competition. Neither is important as we are over it.

****well no not actually. Bernard’s Watch has dated and Thames Television have been in touch with a very gentle restraining order about…the Zippy One…yes that one. So we can’t do them. Inoperable Demon and Fashion Twat must go down as insensitive. And the climate probably isn’t right for Japanese Christmas carol. But other than that!
*****yes alright we’ve been back for ages. We’ve done four shows at the Super Cool Liverpool arts bar. But it’s fun to say you’re back!
