An evening of joyous Baroque Choral music beckons, at Bude Methodist Church, Saturday 30th November at 7pm. Bude Choral Society will be performing with the Divertimento orchestral ensemble and a host of other professional musicians.
John Hobbs will conduct the Divertimento ensemble, the choir, organist Stephen Tyrrell and soloists Katie Wright (S), Charlotte Badham (Mz. S.), Matthew Jeffrey (T) and Julian Rippon (B) through a rich programme comprising two Bach Cantatas (65 & 147), Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Handel’s Coronation Anthem ‘Let thy hand be strengthened’.

The concert promises to be gorgeous celebration of Baroque music.
Tickets are £18 in advance and £20 on the door (schoolchildren free).

Bude Choral Society are looking forward to singing alongside Divertimento. The Divertimento Ensemble brings together some of the finest professional musicians. Formed in 2004 it is a flexible-sized group that perform major works of chamber music with players who love the repertoire. They performed Bach’s complete Brandenburg Concertos to great acclaim. The versatility of the group also enables them to perform as a full symphony orchestra. TV credits include being featured in a Rosamunde Pilcher film for German TV. The Divertimento Ensemble is much in demand and regularly booked to accompany choirs throughout the Southwest, performing around 30 concerts a year, we are very lucky to have them with us for our Baroque concert.
