From jazz and blues to heartfelt originals and sharp-witted lyrics, this is live music that moves.Recording artists Hal Goodtree and Michael Pelz-Sherman have been writing, recording, and performing as Lounge Doctors since 2014. Together, they bring years of experience, chemistry, and creativity to every stage they play.
MICHAEL Michael Pelz-Sherman, PhD
A classically trained musician with a doctorate from the University of California, Michael plays piano, organ, and keyboards, and contributes vocals. His original songs often explore themes of politics and love. Michael is also a respected composer, arranger, and producer who thrives on working with live musicians in the studio.
Outside of Lounge Doctors, Michael performs with the North Carolina Ballet Company, the North Carolina Jazz Ensemble, and his own group, the MPS Trio.
HAL GOODTREE
An Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker, writer, and photographer, Hal plays guitar, bass, and sings with The Lounge Doctors. Known for his observational songwriting and studio chops, Hal contributes lyrics and serves as the group’s audio engineer and producer.
