Flame Meets Cask: The Balvenie x Lennox Hastie at Firedoor
On 27 October, join us for an unforgettable meeting of fire and finesse, where one of Scotland’s most storied distilleries, The Balvenie, pairs with fire-led culinary pioneer Lennox Hastie of Firedoor for a night celebrating mastery, passion, and tradition.
The evening will be a celebration and showcase of skills taking decades to master. Lennox and his team will craft a feast using nothing but wood, passion, an ode to ancient cooking techniques, and the raw, untamed beauty of flame. Each dish is paired with an exceptional Single Malt from The Balvenie, including the 12 Year Old DoubleWood with vanilla and honey notes, the opulent PortWood 21 Year Old, and the rare, deeply expressive The Balvenie 19 Year Old Sherry Cask.
The Balvenie remains one of the few distilleries still practicing the Five Rare Crafts of whisky making, from floor malting to coopering, handed down through generations of Makers. A family-owned Speyside institution, their whiskies echo the same devotion to time and tradition that fuels Lennox’s fire.
As The Balvenie’s official Australian ambassador since 2022, Lennox brings both flame, creativity, and philosophy to the Firedoor dinner table. This is the ultimate collision of flavour, heritage, and elemental precision.
