At a Baltimore Breathwork class Elizabeth likes to start class making sure you feel grounded and safe. Sometimes she does a guided meditation and she also suggests that you set an intention for breathwork whether that is to release emotions or memories that has been worrying you, or to call in joy, creativity, or an answer you are seeking. She asks you to set it, and then forget it: and let the experience you are supposed to have happen. You then lie on a yoga mat, and can cover with an optional blanket and hold optional smooth stones. You lie back and follow directions to breathe through the mouth and not the nose. If you have an eye pillow you that's great to use. The class usually starts out with breathing to rock-n-roll or other music which is carefully curated.
Affirmations are sprinkled throughout the class. Towards the end of the breathwork portion the music often becomes geared towards a deeper experience culminating in a sound bath. The breathwork portion is around 25-35 minutes, and the sound bath is shorter (like a dessert.) Sometimes class ends with a poem and starts with guided meditation.
Each class is a unique experience and no two are the same.
Baltimore Breathwork is a hybrid of breathwork and sound healing. Breathwork is a powerful, active meditation technique for self-healing where participants bypass the thinking mind and process on a subconscious level. Sound healing uses crystal sound bowls, gongs, rattles, tuning forks, and chimes realign the mind, body, and soul. Combining breathwork with beautiful vibrational sounds brings balance and harmony to the body and is a powerful way to cultivate a sense of well-being.
Following this transformative healing experience participants report significantly less tension, anger, fatigue, and depressed mood. Most participants leave a session feeling lighter, and more connected to their authentic self.
Elizabeth Bardelli (Baltimore Breathwork) holds a Master of Science Degree from the Johns Hopkins University and a post-graduate degree from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland in the field of education. After retiring as a classroom teacher from the Maryland Public School System, Elizabeth studied under David Elliott, renowned Los Angeles breathwork facilitator trainer and author of Healing. After becoming certified as an intuitive healer, she then founded Baltimore Breathwork in 2018. She frequents Los Angeles attending events given by her sound hero, Guy Douglas, and trainings hosted by her peers in the breathwork circuit.
Elizabeth is particularly interested in using breathwork to help those healing from alcoholism, depression, stress and folks just wanting to feel most like themselves again. She also employs techniques from laughter yoga, guided meditation and imagery, and a generous use of positive affirmations in her classes.
