The Baby Tooth Variety Hour is a one-night-only fundraiser in support of Baby Tooth, the debut feature film from Student Academy Award–winning filmmaker Drew Lewis Brown. A coming-of-age drama about self-acceptance and family caregiving, Baby Tooth is more than just a film—it’s an opportunity to bring over 100 new jobs to Jacksonville’s creative community and generate direct investment into local businesses and the arts economy.
Sponsored by WJCT and hosted on their Soundstage, the evening offers a behind-the-scenes look at how a movie is made, with the filmmakers sharing the vision for Baby Tooth, a special guest appearance, and ways the community’s support can create real opportunities for Northeast Florida artists and small businesses.
The project is also proudly supported by the City of Jacksonville’s Film & Television Office, whose team is working hand-in-hand with the filmmakers to ensure a smooth, collaborative production experience in Duval County.
Most importantly, Baby Tooth is fiscally sponsored by Film Independent, the nonprofit behind the Spirit Awards and a champion of visionary storytellers. This partnership means every contribution is a tax-deductible charitable gift, giving donors the rare opportunity to support an ambitious independent film while directly fueling jobs and economic growth here in Jacksonville.
Admission is free with RSVP. Donations to the project are encouraged at the event.
