About this Event

The BAA is thrilled to announce the opening of bookings for the highly anticipated annual Birmingham Architectural Association Built Environment Dinner, scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the exquisite Birmingham Town Hall.

This year’s dinner will be a glamorous affair, with a Black Tie dress code.

Last year, we were honoured to welcome over 230 leaders, managers, and directors from more than 100 different companies within the construction industry all from across Birmingham. This year, we are excited to once again gather professionals from various sectors, including architects, engineers, property developers, contractors, and consultants, for an evening of networking and camaraderie.

Indulge in a delightful 3-course meal, explore a captivating exhibition showcasing the rich history of the BAA spanning 150 years, enjoy insightful talks from our special guest speaker Adam Greenfield, and dance the evening away to Twilight Groove our live band for the evening.

The agenda for the evening will be:

6:00pm - The venue doors will be open with a drinks reception to start your evening off right

6:30pm - The dinner begins with a 3-course sit down meal. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening for all your additional requirements.

The evening will be hosted by our BAA President, Matt Redding and Vice-President Beth Long

Adam Greenfield is a renowned urbanist, leading advocate for human-centered design in technological systems, and a prominent skeptic of "smart cities" initiatives. With over twenty years of experience in the technology industry, Greenfield offers a deep understanding of how networked information technologies shape our urban environments.

In his latest book "Lifehouse: Taking Care of Ourselves in a World on Fire," Adam Greenfield confronts the challenges of our time, marked by a continuous onslaught of pandemics, heatwaves, droughts, and climate-driven disasters. Amidst this Long Emergency, Greenfield explores the potential of harnessing tactics and networks of care that emerge during crises to create a cohesive way of life.
