Its a 5K Run/Walk with a Family Fun Day after.
The race begins at 8:30am at Calvary Chapel Lexington. All ages welcome to run or walk and the race will end with an amazing foam finish!!
After the race we will have a FAMILY FUN DAY beginning at 9-1.There will be food trucks, laser tag, face painting, a make your own stuffed animal station, TOUCH-A-TRUCK, a petting zoo, bounce houses and Italian Ice to help raise additional funds.
If you can't come out and run, please come out and fellowship and support this young family as Brooke beats cancer.
Why are we doing this fundraiser and who is Brooke?
Some may know Brooke from her loving on your children at her job as an Assistant Children's Director at Calvary Chapel Lexington. Maybe she led you in worship with her angelic voice on a Sunday morning or you may know her husband and brother who serve as Richland Sheriffs keeping everyone safe and serving our community. You may have not even met Brooke but her kindness, compassion and love have reached you some how for you to be reading this. Brooke and her family are known for serving and sacrifice and now is a time, we as a community, can come back and serve and sacrifice for them.
21 year old Brooke was been diagnosed, after months of doctors trying to figure it out, with a Rare Unnamed Cancer with an Inflamed A-Typical Spindle Cell Mesenchymal Tumor.
Due to how rare it is she is receiving treatment out of state at MD Anderson in Houston Texas. The costs of travel, medical bills, and lodging for her young family are already starting to pile up.
This 5K's proceeds will 100% go to Brooke to help offset these bills.
To keep up with Brookes Journey there are links below to follow her story through treatment and to donate financially.
We ask that even if you cant particiapte in the race that everytime you see a bee this summer you pray for Brooke.
