“The Awakening” of Parker Phillips takes you on his journey as a queer black artist, trying to find the meaning of life. He struggled with depression, anxiety, and severe loss over the years, and felt cadged by his emotions. It wasn’t until the passing of his father during COVID 19 where he was suddenly at his lowest point. “Your struggle is great, but your destiny is greater! This too shall pass.” Those are the words his father used to preach to him throughout his entire life. This show serves as Parker’s testimony of perseverance, love, and faith that everything will work out the way they are supposed to.
With his extra special guest, Season 12 icon fron Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Dahlia Sin, he is ready to give you a listening experience like no other!
Bio:
Parker Phillips is a Massachusetts native, and independent artist that has been singing since the age of 5. He began his career in his family’s church, New England Pentecostal Ministries of Pelham New Hampshire. There, he sang on the Young Levites Choir, directed by his mother Vickie Parker. He later traveled the east coast with his father, the late Pastor Phillip Clyde Parker Sr., singing the gospel on the
Voices of Praise. He has performed on stages across the country, including the world famous Apollo Theatre, where he has won Amateur Night 3 times! Additionally, he has been performing in Boston, NYC, LA, and Miami nightlight for the past decade.
Parker is ready to take the world by storm! His project “Awakening,” was created by several brilliant minds who are some of the most in demand, Grammy-nominated and winning, writers and producers in the music industry today. Bianca “Blush” Atterberry, NOA Wiley, and Akil King A.K.A “Worldwide Fresh.” Collectively, their credits include: Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Brandy, and Chris Brown to name a few.
