Yoga teachers! Are you ready to bring more clarity, confidence, and creativity to your class planning? Whether you're a newer teacher just beginning to develop your skills or a more experienced one looking to refresh your approach, this six-hour, day-long intensive will help you better understand the building blocks of effective sequencing. The Art of Teaching: Hone Your Sequence is designed to support you in creating classes that are thoughtful, balanced, and rooted in the deeper purpose of yoga.
Led by senior yoga teacher Jennifer French, E-RYT 500—with over 19 years of teaching experience—you’ll be guided through an engaging and supportive day of learning. You’ll explore sequencing not just as structure, but as a meaningful way to support your students physically, energetically, and mentally.
In this interactive and collaborative setting, you'll have the opportunity to apply what you're learning in real time and receive personalized feedback. Expect lively discussion, group work, and hands-on practice that brings the principles of sequencing to life.
During our time together, we’ll explore:
• The physical, mental, and energetic effects of key yoga postures
• Principles of safe, accessible, and effective sequencing
•Techniques for crafting classes that feel cohesive, intentional, and complete
• How to expand your sequencing beyond a single class into a more thoughtful progression or curriculum over time
• Opportunities to refine your teaching through peer support and guided teaching exercises
You’ll leave with supportive materials and new inspiration to bring into your own classes, along with a deeper understanding of how sequence shapes experience. You’ll also leave with something just as important—connection. This is a space to share, reflect, and grow within a community of fellow teachers who are walking the same path.
This workshop is part of The Yoga Sanctuary’s Mentorship Program and taken on its own, is eligible for Continuing Education hours with the Yoga Alliance. While designed with yoga teachers in mind, this workshop is also open to dedicated yoga practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding of the practice or explore the possibility of becoming a teacher in the future.
Cost is $180
