About this Event
By its very nature, storytelling captivates and, in essence, hypnotizes its audience. Whether it’s a Hollywood movie, a commercial, a social media fragment, the news, or propaganda itself, the audience loses control of their conscious selves while in the thrall of the story.
Join narrative expert Mark Voelpel to learn how to apply this inherent power of story and understand it, so as to better enjoy stories—without being unwittingly transformed by them.
Voelpel is an Associate Professor in the Film Department at Brooklyn College and founding faculty at the school’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. He is also an award-winning director of films and advertising.
