SONGWRITERS CIRCLE I
The first songwriter’s circle of the day features Lala Noel, James Keelaghan, and Rita di Ghent. Together, these 3 artists bring a mix of folk, jazz, soul, and storytelling to the stage—sharing songs and experiences that showcase the many voices of Canadian music. A 30 minute break will follow from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM.
SONGWRITERS CIRCLE II
The second songwriter’s circle of the day brings together Ammoye, Miss Emily, KC Roberts and AHI. Blending reggae, soul, and funk-infused grooves, these artists create a dynamic exchange of songs and stories that highlight the power of rhythm, resilience, and raw emotion.

The Art of Song Festival, an intimate, unplugged celebration of the timeless craft of songwriting — headlined by GRAMMY Award winning artist Allison Russell. In a world of digital noise and AI-driven music, this weekend brings us back to what’s raw, authentic, and deeply human: the art of writing and performing songs.
Curated by Shakura S’Aida, the festival gathers Canadian singer-songwriters across genres to share their stories, melodies, and creative spirit. Through songwriting circles and performances, you’ll hear music the way it was meant to be experienced—up close, unplugged, and with the stories behind the songs revealed.
More than concerts, The Art of Song is a chance to connect, be inspired, and celebrate the power of music to bring us together.
