Learn how to make face creams, body lotions and mist sprays as well as masks, scrubs and oils. You will leave the class with the knowledge and skills to make your own skincare products that are safe and effective for your own use.
You will also learn about the benefits of using natural ingredients and how to source ingredients made with the lowest carbon footprint.
The course outline:
Week 1: Make a face cream and face mask with a focus on emulsions. Learn about sourcing ingredients in the most ethical and environmental way.
Week 2: Make a night cream and aromatherapy oil. We will discuss rare, local and prolific plant bases for oils, and which are best for your skin, the most ethical and kind to the climate.
Week 3: Make a body lotion, face and body scrubs. Discuss circular and sustainable packaging of products.
Week 4: Make a facial mist spray, hair balm and shower bomb. How to certify your products. We will then sumarise our 4 weeks of learning.
All skincare materials are provided.
You will need to provide upcycled containers to package the skincare into (approximately 4 upcycled jars/containers per week).
