About this Event
Workshop description: Join romance author and editor Alexandra Kiley for an interactive workshop where you'll discover the power of character-driven story structure. Plot is all well and good (and necessary), but stories are powered by emotions.
In this workshop, we’ll delve into the art of building tension from the heart of a character’s wants and needs to sweep readers away on an emotional journey. We’ll break down contemporary story craft theories and build them back into a super tool you can use to devise a strong character arc and rest assured you have a solid story foundation.
Whether you're writing or revising a romance novel, this workshop will show you how to create a compelling love story by centering the character at the heart of your narrative.
When: Wednesday, September 11th 5-6pm
Where: Petals & Pages 956 Santa Fe Drive Denver, CO 80204
About the instructor: Alexandra Kiley is a developmental editor and author of big-hearted romances. When she’s not writing, you can find her drinking tea, hiking, or gazing adoringly at the mountains of Colorado. Her novels are inspired by her semester in Scotland where she fell in love with not only the lush and magical land, but also the people who invited her into their homes and made her feel like family.
