Artist Lamya Gargash and art historian Sophie Kazan reflect on the development of contemporary art in the UAE, the artist’s own practice and ‘behind the scenes’ of her latest exhibition, Kun, which is now at Maraya Art Center in Sharjah (2 Nov 2024-10 Jan 2025). They will discuss the notion of spirituality and tradition in art, and how photography creates spaces and explores identity.
