Panelists

Tom Askey, CIO Valeo Financial Advisors

Tom is an experienced investor with over 15 years of investment experience. He has been Chief Investment Officer with Valeo Financial Advisors since 2023. He began his investment career in 2008 and has private credit, public and private equity, and fixed income experience. Tom chairs the Valeo Investment Committee, which is tasked with Investment menu selection and portfolio management. Additionally, Tom is a member of the Valeo Executive Committee, which is tasked with managing the firm. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 2015. Tom has a B.S. in Business with concentrations in Finance and Operational Management from Indiana University. He started his career at Ernst & Young as a management consultant before moving over to the buy side at a private equity firm, NXT Capital. At NXT, Tom focused on private credit and private equity middle market leverage buy-outs across all industry sectors. After NXT, Tom joined Wells Fargo Asset Management (later to become Allspring Global Investments) and was part of the Discovery Growth team for ten years as a Senior Equity Analyst. At Allspring, he underwrote, modeled, and ultimately selected individual publicly traded securities for five different growth-focused strategies across Health Care, Industrial, Technology, and Consumer industries. At NXT and Allspring, Tom spent most of his time interacting with management teams and the Board of Directors, preparing investment memos, presenting to investment committees, and ultimately making investment decisions on behalf of institutional clients.
