We are so excited to announce that Ezequiel Olazar is coming back to Cairo this May for the second year to share his magic clown teachings.
If you’ve been in one of his classes before, you know just how powerful they can be.
This time, we’re offering two workshops (𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟭-𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱
- For Amateurs and 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 - For Professionals)
to give everyone a chance to dive into the art of clowning and experience it firsthand.
In these workshops, we’ll be exploring physicality, voice, playfulness, and pleasure. It’s all about being authentic rather than performing. We want you to bring all of you—no judgment, just curiosity.
This year’s theme is "THE ART OF FAILURE." In clown terms, this means embracing mistakes, getting into trouble, and allowing yourself to mess up. The clown is innocent, playful, and always gets in a bit of a mess. The magic is in turning those mistakes into laughter and joy.
Clowning is not just about silliness—it's a powerful theatrical art form that requires a deep understanding of timing, rhythm, and presence. The technique of clowning combines physicality, and expressions to tell stories and stir emotion. It’s a form of theatre that doesn’t rely on scripts but instead on the raw reactions and presence of the clown in the moment. It’s about being real, being available and being in relationship with others and the audience.
The focus will be on play, presence, listening, feeling the urgency, connecting with your emotions, and playing with them. We’ll do group exercises to help us connect and communicate, opening up to share and co-create. It’s about nonverbal communication, following impulses, and letting go of the need to be perfect.

What people say about Ezequiel’s teachings:
"I have attended a lot of great workshops that I've learned alot from. But Eziquiel stands OUT. Not only as an acting instructor but also as a teacher! He is a remarkable teacher that creates an amazing space that allows all harmonious flow between the participants. He is very capable of achieving something that is very hard which is guiding students that are lost in the journey and he makes you cherish this feeling. Months have passed since the workshop and yet I think of it everyday. It helped me as an actor in my presence and letting the feeling sit and pass through. It is a practice/technique that I still want to continue and learn more about. If there is another workshop with him I will definitely take it." (Farida Ragab)
"What Ezequiel taught me in two days is far more precious than courses and workshops I have spent months in. He has a way of letting things sink in without even understanding how this happened. I find myself applying something he said in the workshop to my everyday life and not just my practice as a performer. I’m grateful for this experience and I can’t imagine how much I can learn from him if I had a longer course. He is the perfect example of what a teacher should be, letting us do the deepest work with very simple approaches and he creates a safe space for openness and expression. I cannot thank him enough for the impact he had on me and I wish I can continue to learn from him." (Reem Maghraby)
