SCTA invites Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts to learn the Art of Crochet This in-person, guided class will provide instruction for a series of beginner stitches using crochet hooks and yarn with the goal of completing 2 Granny Squares - one to take home and another to include in the SCTA/ Shepard Garden & Arts Center Yarn Bombing Installation at McKinley Park on Saturday, June 8, 2024. This program fulfills the requirements for the Girl Scout Senior Textile Artist Badge Steps 1-5. Program fee: $30 for Girl Scouts, $40 for non-Girl Scouts (GSHCC charges a $10 classroom fee for non Girl Scouts.) The Senior Textile Artist badge is not included but may be purchased separately through the Girl Scout Shop or online at www.girlscoutshop.com.
Supplies to bring: Girl Scout vest- optional, Pen & Paper, Snack & refillable water bottle
SCTA will provide all necessary class materials including yarn and crochet hooks. Participants with prior crochet experience are welcome to bring their own materials in addition to those provided by SCTA.
Note: SCTA is a GSHCC program partner. Girl Scout membership is not required to participate in the Art of Crochet class. All community members interested in crochet are encouraged to register.
