- The causes of unhealthy growth in children and youth patients
- The cause of mouth breathing and bruxism and their role in the development of facial deformities
- Interdisciplinary approaches in diagnosis and treatment of these issues in growing and non-growing patients
- Goals for orthodontic therapy focused on restorative considerations
- Learn why the expansion of only the upper jaw is not effective and can backfire
- Treating the worn dentition for treatment of the airway
- Interdisciplinary treatment planning for improving narrow smiles and faces in ortho-restorative patients
- Learn to communicate treatment goals with your orthodontist to achieve optimum results in patients with worn anterior teeth to enhance their airway and permanently improve bruxism

Faculty:
Dr. Sam Bobek is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing in Seattle, Washington. He received his dental and medical degrees from Oregon Health & Science University. He finished an orthognathic and temporomandibular joint surgery fellowship in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Bobek has focused his clinical practice on orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea, and trigeminal nerve repair. He has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed literature and three book chapters, and he has lectured nationally and internationally on OSA and TMJ replacement.
Dr. Henry Rowshan is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who practices full-time in Bellevue, Washington. He graduated from Purdue University School of Dentistry in Indiana. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and the Medical College of Georgia in Georgia. Dr. Rowshan has authored and published over ten articles and a textbook. He served as the Chief of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at The US Army National Training Center in California. He has also served as a clinical faculty at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Washington. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology.
Dr. Vikram Likhari is a periodontist in a full-time private practice in Bellevue, WA. He graduated from Tufts University in Boston with a Master of Science Degree and a Certificate in Periodontics. He was selected as Chief Resident of the program in his final year at Tufts and held a Visiting Scientist Position at the acclaimed Forsyth Institute. At Forsyth, he conducted his master's research on the Salivary Cytokines, which has been published. Dr. Likhari is especially interested in Periodontal Plastic Surgery and Esthetic Implant Surgery. Dr. Likhari is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology and an Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Washington Department of Periodontics.
Dr. Chandur Wadhwani is a prosthodontist in a full-time private practice in Bellevue, WA. He is an affiliate assistant professor in prosthodontics at the University of Washington and Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He is an affiliate associate professor in the Department of Periodontics at Oregon Health Science University. Dr. Wadhwani is an associate editor for Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research and is on the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry editorial council. He is co-chair for Science – the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation (a worldwide charitable foundation focused on implant restoration). He has received multiple awards for research and teaching, including the prestigious 'Distinguished Lecturer Award 2018' from the American College of Prosthodontists. He has over 100 publications and seven book chapters and has lectured nationally and internationally.
Dr. Joseph Yousefian is an orthodontist in a full-time private practice in Bellevue, WA. He graduated from Washington University with post-graduate training in orthodontics and a dual Master of Science Degree in Biology and Physical Anthropology at Ohio State University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and Orthodontics. He has collaborated with several nationally organized research projects, including NIH-funded clinical trials in the airway, open bite, and TMJ disorders. He is a lecturer nationally and internationally. He is a manuscript and book reviewer for several publishing companies. He has worked in the Children Airway Screening Taskforce with the American Dental Association. He has contributed to over thirty publications in peer-reviewed journals and twelve textbooks.
