What would we humans be without communication? Without language, gestures and facial expressions?We communicate everywhere and all the time – in the supermarket, at work, in relationships, with our friends and children. But often enough, misunderstandings or even arguments arise. This is because our human communication is based on very individual experiences, on our very own idea of truth. All our actions, thoughts and feelings are based on the experiences we have gathered. And these vary not only from culture to culture, but also from person to person. And so each of us has his or her own understanding of truth, and each of us associates very personal emotions with individual words. Since we usually regard our own perception as the only correct truth, problems arise again and again.
In this lecture Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche gives us simple methods how we can become aware of these different truths and perceptions – and thus better accept the view of others and avoid misunderstandings.
