About the Speaker
Fuad Koichi Honda, a renowned Arabic calligrapher from Tokyo, began his journey in Arabic calligraphy while working as an interpreter in Arab countries. He learned the basis of Arabic calligraphy under local Arabic calligraphers. In 2000, he received the Ijaza of Arabic Calligraphy from Turkish master, Hasan Çelebi. Honda's works has gained high evaluations and featured in major museums worldwide, including the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, The British Museum and the Asian Civilisations Museum. In 2006, he published his first art book, The Cosmos of Arabic Calligraphy, and founded the Japan Arabic Calligraphy Association, where he serves as president.
