Jack Lemmon's striving insurance clerk curries favor with his bosses by loaning out his apartment for their extra-marital affairs, but scheduling conflicts and his own burgeoning romance threaten to torpedo the arrangement.

This is projectionist Bill Wright's favorite film (and is also consistently rated as one of the best American films ever made). At the 33rd Academy Awards, it's wins included Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay out of a whopping 10 Academy Award nominations. In 2002, a poll of film directors in film magazine Sight and Sound ranked it as the 14th greatest film of all time.
