The Gods and Goddesses Poetry Slam was created by award winning, international Spoken Word Artist, Goddess Warrior The Poet. Held in Rockford, IL this slam competition brings out spoken word artists from all over the country to compete for cash prizes, win trophies, connect with other artists from different cities, national exposure and international exposure as the event is televised and filmed for ROKU-TV.Registration for the Gods and Goddesses Poetry Slam is NOW OPEN! ??

FOR ALL REGISTERED PERFORMERS:
Once you submit your payment & registered your performance slot in the competition will be secured.
-Friday October 11th:
For all registered performers who arrive in town & check into the designated hotel (TBA) there will be a small meet and greet gathering at said hotel once everyone gets checked in. It is not mandatory to attend but your presence is greatly appreciated. Time will be announced.
-October 12th at 4:30pm:
There will be a luxury entertainment bus that will arrive at your hotel to transport the poets to the theater for ARTIST CHECK-IN inside the Nordlof Center's Artist Green Room. Located on the lower level. You will meet with your host to go over slam details, rules and pull numbers for your performance order. Doors are set to open at 6pm & the slam event will Begin at 7pm. The slam is set to go from 7 to 10pm with an after-party to follow.
-OCTOBER 12th AT 11PM:
OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE FOR ALL PERFORMERS AND TICKETED GUEST WHO DESIRE TO ATTEND. SLAMMERS ARE FREE. GUEST WILL PAY $10 ENTRY FEE TO AFTER PARTY WHERE FREE FOOD AND DRINKS WILL BE SUPPLIED.
OFFICIAL SLAM RULES:
-NO STAGE PROPS ALLOWED.
-NO PHONES, NOTEBOOKS OR TABLETS
- 1st and 2nd rounds POEMS Should be 3mins or less. 20sec grace.
- 3rd round POEMS must be 2 mins or less. 20 sec grace.
-Original written work & content.
-When introduced on stage you spit your piece, await scores then back to your seat.
-No talking or shameless plugs allowed.
-Once you are in front of the Mic, YOU SPIT YOUR PIECE & DASSIT!!
CURSING IS ALLOWED.
