About this Event

The SIS Leadership Dinner provides a forum for inclusive dialogue amongst students and faculty to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation of AU leaders. The theme this year is: The Importance of Diversity and Representation in Academia and Institutions. As American foreign policy and diplomacy continues to transform in light of our current political landscape, it is vital to address how academia can be more inclusive to BIPOC, how diversity in the field increases successful outcomes, and how non-people of color in foreign policy can be anti-racist in their practice. These points will be the main focus of the discussion for the night. These conversations are necessary to impact and deconstruct institutionalized racism as we transition into our careers in international affairs.
