Hester Ida and the Music is the newest vision of multi-disciplinary artist Hester Ullyart. Let her talented band of musicians take you on an intimate journey of sound, word, and song. Youth, love and human experience are held up to the light in an open-armed, unforgettable ode to self-government and love. From an award-winning UK-born Åtautahi-based artist, in praise of connection, courage, and hope.
"I am host to ribbon and string
silk flags trailing
tied too tight for small fingers
If I run fast enough
the flags will turn to kites
the kites will lift me up, above the houses
and carry me away
and I will say
funny
how small it all looks
from up
here "
