Author's Bio: At New Mexico State University, I was a biology and education double major and out of school taught high school biology in Florida for 6 years. With a strong attraction to wildlife, particularly reptiles, I always had a classroom well adorned with live snakes, turtles, and lizards and plenty of students eager to add to the menagerie. After moving back to Albuquerque and considering my next career choice as a natural history museum employee, I took a sudden left turn (at Albuquerque) and started my museum with a reptile theme. Thirty-four years, and 2 million "students" later, I'm still encouraging guests to respect, not fear, these wild scaly friends.
