The Albion Christmas Band – described in The Guardian as “the perfect antidote to the corporate Christmas” is always the perfect way to mark the end of our year of music at Folk in the Barn, and send everyone on their way full of joy and Christmas cheer.
Many folk say that their Christmas doesn’t start until they have seen The Albion Christmas Band!
Now in their 26th year touring together, this year will see a gentle shift to the long-standing line-up. After guesting with the band for the past four years, talented singer-songwriter Blair Dunlop will be taking a more permanent seat on the right side of the stage while his Dad, band-creator and leader Ashley Hutchings MBE (The Guvnor) will be joining the others for parts of the evening, adding his expressive voice, thoughtful style and wealth of knowledge of folk song and poetry.
Meanwhile, the folk scene’s finest - Simon Care - of Banter, Tickled Pink, Edward II, and Morris On…., Simon Nicol of Fairport Convention, and Kellie While possessor of one of the most breathtakingly beautiful voices anywhere, will be in their usual seats, together presenting a heart-warming festive mix of carols, Christmas songs, spoken word and humorous stories.
