Welcome to the exhibition “The Agency of Mapping (and Walking)” where Benedicte will show what she has been working on in her residency at Kiosken. In her project she is exploring different takes on mapping- from audio walks, sculptures, walking scores and drawings.
As part of the opening on Wednesday 24th of April there will be soup, snacks and a conversation about mapping.
17:00 Welcome drinks and soup
18:00 A conversation about maps where Benedicte has invited Amy Van Den Hooven, Eamon O’Kane and Axel Bache-Wiig to talk about their different practices in relation to mapping.
The conversation is open for everyone and we welcome all to join in the discussion with your perspective.
As an extension of her Master’s project, she used the residency at Kiosken to delve into various archives and Bergen’s history, creating more walks through Bergen:
Please also reserve the date Tuesday 25th of April for Benedicte's next event;
Postkortvandring - Havnen i Bergen, where you are invited to walk, listen and experience Benedicte Dahms new audio walk, centred around the harbour of Bergen. The walk will start outside of Kiosken at 19.00 and finish around 20.00 at Skuteviken.

Benedicte Dahm is an artist working between Bergen and Oslo.
She got her BFA from KHiO, and her master from the art academy at the University of Bergen.
Benedicte moves between drawing, sculpture, installations, maps/audio-walks, animations and printed matters.
She seeks to make visible the infrastructure around us, and uses storytelling to investigate our everyday objects, local stories and how we move and meet in public and private spaces.
In her practice she combines different mediums as a way to create and invite into worlds and meeting spaces: from audio walks, to illustration or bigger installations.
In her own words: “Maps can be anything from sticks on the ground, to the most technical systems we have, and everywhere we are surrounded by maps that tell us how our surroundings look like.”

The residency program at Kiosken Studio is kindly supported from Bergen Kommune and Kulturdirektoratet.
