The Durham County Library, North Carolina Botanical Garden, and Sarah P. Duke Gardens are proud to partner for the second annual African American Legacy in Gardening and Horticulture Symposium at the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham.This one-day symposium explores the unsung historical legacy of African American plantspeople, horticulturalists, residential gardeners, and gardening clubs.
It's free to attend; please register in advance if you plan to join us in-person. (The event will also be live-streamed!) All speaking sessions will feature ASL interpretation.

Join us at the Hayti Heritage Center on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 6 p.m. for a screening of the documentary film Family Tree, which will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Mavis Gragg, Alton Perry and Tyrone Williams, with Savi Horne moderating.
