Founded in 1946 by Eva B. Dykes – the first black woman to receive a PhD from Harvard’s female counterpart Radcliffe College – the Aeolians perform choral repertoire ranging from Baroque to the present. The Aeolians have become an authoritative source for the Negro spiritual and work songs. In 2017 The Aeolians traveled to Wales to participate in The Choir of the World competition and were awarded the top prize and the prestigious Choir of the World Luciano Pavarotti trophy.
