About this Event

The Addicted Family in Recovery: Attachment, Trauma and a Developmental Process featuring Dr. Stephanie Brown

Together with Dr. Stephanie Brown and Mary Kennedy, we will build upon our knowledge of recovery as a developmental process for the individual to include the environment and family system.

Dr. Brown will draw on over 40 years of research, writing, teaching and clinical work as she guides participants to a deeper understanding of the family recovery model. Through the lens of attachment, trauma and addiction recovery theory, Dr. Brown will provide a framework of how to work with families in the long-term process of healthy growth over time.

Using lecture, discussion, handouts and Q&A, this training will support recovery professionals to bring the theory of the developmental model of recovery for families into their practices and programs. Copies of Dr. Brown’s groundbreaking family recovery books will be available for purchase.

This training is open to therapists, psychiatrists, counselors, coaches and other addiction and mental health professionals. Returning colleagues and new recovery professionals are welcome!

Light refreshments will be served and networking will be encouraged.
