About this Event
The mission of The Actors Academy is to awaken the imagination, emotion, and intellect of the student artist by making him/her aware of the transforming power and universality of performance arts; and the skills required to achieve excellence.
We provide a platform for directors, acting coaches, casting agents, producers, and filmmakers to teach the techniques needed to develop and sustain a great performing arts career.

* Kids Acting Classes (Ages 6-14) are held Saturdays from 11:00am-1:00pm (April 5th, 12th, and19th, 2025)
*Adult Acting Classes (Ages 18+) are held Saturdays from 2:00pm-4:00pm (April 5th, 12th, and 19th, 2025)

Class Title: Becoming The Show

Class Description: Every actor possesses a unique set of talents just waiting to be fully realized. This engaging acting class is designed to help students uncover their strengths, refine their craft, and bring authenticity to every performance. Through focused scene study, in-depth character development, and collaborative scene work with fellow actors, students will learn how to fully embody their roles and bring stories to life. By honing these essential skills, actors will cultivate the confidence and presence needed to command the stage or screen, ensuring they don't ust perform the show, they become the show.

Class Description: If you’re serious about a career in the performing arts, it’s time to start getting paid for your talent. But how do you find and book consistent, paid work in today’s industry? This class will teach you the essential business and administrative skills needed to build a successful acting career. You’ll learn how to find opportunities, present yourself professionally on set, and manage your finances as a working actor. From this class you’ll gain the tools needed to secure paid roles and turn your passion into a sustainable career.

Class Description: Success in the acting industry isn’t just about talent—it’s about adaptability, professionalism, and strong relationships. This class is designed to help actors build a lasting career by evolving with industry trends, expanding versatility, and continuously refining their craft. We will explore new character types and address actors' personal weaknesses. Actors will be encouraged to push their boundaries to develop a greater range. The class also covers essential career maintenance including keeping headshots and reels up to date and understanding what casting directors look for. By mastering these strategies, actors will gain the confidence and skills to not just book roles, but to sustain a thriving career for years to come.

Class Title: Fundamentals of Acting
Director: Awsim Amin
Class Description: This interactive class introduces young actors to the basics of performance, helping them build confidence and creativity. Through scene study, they’ll learn how to break down scripts, understand their meaning, and bring characters to life. Acting exercises will be aimed to help them develop strong reading skills, express emotions, and explore different roles with confidence. Kids will also learn how to use their voices and bodies to create believable performances. By the end of the class, they’ll have a foundation in acting, preparing them for future opportunities in theater, film, and storytelling.

Class Title: Green Screen Performance
Director: Dexter Brains
Class Description: Acting on greenscreen is a special skill within performance. In this class young actors will work on greenscreen and learn the unique skills required for acting in an environment where much of the scenery and action is not physically present and will be added in post-production. Young actors will practice using their imagination through visualization techniques to interact convincingly with elements that aren't physically present.

Class Title: Commercial Acting
Director: Kimia Workman
Class Description: This engaging class introduces young actors to the exciting world of commercial acting. Kids will learn how to bring energy, personality, and confidence to on-screen advertisements while making their performances feel natural and believable. Through interactive exercises, they’ll explore how to use their voice, expressions, and body language to promote different products. They’ll also discover how to adapt their acting style to match various brands and messages. Students will build the skills , confidence, and charisma needed to shine in auditions and on set.
