About this Event
Are you concerned that your loved one doesn’t have the mental capacity to manage their own life? It's crucial to plan ahead, discuss preferences, and document wishes through legal tools, in case they are unable to make their own decisions now or in the future.
Join us as we discuss legal mechanisms that support surrogate decision-making through documents like a durable power of attorney for health care and a living will. These documents can guide decisions based on the person's previously expressed wishes. We will also explore establishing guardianship, where a court appoints someone (a guardian) to make personal or financial decisions for an individual who is deemed incapacitated. Like a roadmap, these tools can provide clarity and direction during challenging times.
