The 7th Annual 2024 Sunshine Reggae Roots Festival is a family friendly one day music festival held in Downtown Topeka Kansas on the corner of 8th & Jackson streets outside of The Celtic Fox. Featuring national,regional, and local Reggae and Ska bands, DJ’s, Food Trucks (including authentic Jamaican food) Beer Gardens, Arts & Crafts vendors, a kids corner, swag giveaways, and plenty of vibes and fun for everyone!!!$15 ADMISSION AT GATES

After coming to Lawrence Ks from Kingston JA in the early 80’s, where he recorded the hits “Haul & Pull Up” “Right Time” and the rare and sought after albums “Scientist presents Neville Brown with The Aggrovators at Channel One” and “Mr.Music Man”, Neville has continued his Reggae journey for the past 30 years in legendary local bands Common Ground and now The Kingstonians.
We have tried to get these guys since our first year and are so excited to finally have The Legendary RAS NEVILLE & THE KINGSTONIANS MASH UP SUNSHINE REGGAE ROOTS!!!!!!
THE PRIZEFIGHTERS (Minneapolis, MN)
Making their Topeka debut from Minneapolis, MN, these guys have mastered the Jamaican sounds from Ska to Reggae, showcased on three LAVA HOT Lps released on Jump Up Records. Their latest release, last years “Punch Up “ landed on many top 10 lists and is available for streaming and online. In addition to our event, you can catch THE PRIZEFIGHTERS on stage at Skappleton (Wisconsin) and Suppernova International Ska (Virgina) Festivals

Created in 2014 by veterans of the idiom, Page 7 has the makings of a supergroup. With players formally and informally acknowledged as some of the finest songwriters and performers in the genre, the group’s members have built up an impressive track record that includes a combined total of over one hundred album credits, national and international tour dates, and sharing the stage with reggae superstars including:
Morgan Heritage, Burning Spear, Toots and the Maytals, The Wailers, Luciano, Tony Rebel, Yellowman, Junior Murvin, Dean Fraser, Eek-a-Mouse, 311, No Doubt, and many more.
Combining the best traditions of reggae with a hybrid of pop and traditional elements from around the world, Page 7 creates a powerful live music experience that listeners from all walks can enjoy.
