This 20-hour weekend intensive centers around the Koshas, the 5 Layers or Sheaths, of Being. The teaching of the Pancha Koshas (pancha means 5) comes from the Taittiriya Upanishad and serves as a map to understanding ourselves & our lives unfold. By shedding light on these 5 bodies we can come to a fuller understanding of who we are and the unseen forces that shape our everyday experiences. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika identifies 3 types of pain – spiritual, mental & physical. To resovle the pain, we have to address it at each level & this weekend will help you identify where the “pain” is held & help you find ways to help resolve or heal it. Pain is one of our most motivating factors for healing, for it is often pain of any of these types that drives us to change.
This weekend will incorporate lecture, practices, meditations, mantras & more to help awaken to the layers that hold the patterns & habits we cannot always see, or don’t want to see. We will build strength through our own inner exploration and in the container of the sangha (spiritual community) to help overcome these patterns so we can live with more freedom & possibility.
