THE 4TH ANNUAL ABILENE SHOWDOWN - Main Event

Three (3) Pinball Tournaments in Four (4) days with the Main Event being IFPA certified & having 200% TGP value (meaning 250% total value).
About this Event

NOW THE EVENT DETAILS:

The DFW Pinball League continues with its FOURTH stop for 2026 with another massive event.

The Main Event will be have a 200% TGP value AND be an
IFPA CERTIFIED EVENT (Certified tournaments receive a value boost of 125% making the entire tournament a 250% event).

This will be the 4TH ANNUAL ABILENE SHOWDOWN

Event is limited to 100 PARTICIPANTS.
PREPAYMENT AND RSVP REQUIRED FOR THE MAIN EVENT ONLY --
There is no attendance cap and no pre-registration for the side tournaments.
PRE-REGISTRATION opens on TUESDAY FEBRUARY 3, 2026 and 7:00 PM Central Time via Eventbrite.

THIS REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT IS FOR THE MAIN EVENT ---
Entering the Main Event also gives you access to BOTH of the side tournaments.

Event Location:
Please note that Google Maps leads you to a spot that's about 1/4 mile from the actual site -- WHY? because the building sits on a LARGE deer lease and the building is a decent distance back from the road (on the property).
When going down the drive to the building you are travelling "Diagonal" across the property.
Since Google can only see street level, it shows where that address is on the street ...

IFPA Sanctioned Warmup Tournament:
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 26 at 7:00 PM (door open at 6)
Side Tournament:
Beat the Clock Group Matchplay Qualifying with Head to Head Double Elimination Bracket Finals:
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 27 at 12:00 PM (doors open at 11)
Main Event Qualifying: SATURDAY FEBRUARY 28 at 10:00 AM (doors open at 9).
Main Event Finals: SUNDAY MARCH 1 at 11:00 AM (doors open at 10).

WARMUP TIME STARTS 60 MINUTES BEFORE EACH TOURNAMENT

COST, WAITLIST AND REFUND TERMS:

If playing in the MAIN EVENT, cost is $75 per person plus platform fees for Eventbrite!
Your Main Event entry INCLUDES entry into ALL three (3) tournaments.
All three (3) tournaments ARE IFPA sanctioned!
Your Main Event entry also INCLUDES two meals in that cost!

The other 2 tournaments are UNCAPPED on attendance! The more the merrier!

If SKIPPING the Main Event (or if you didn't get a ticket before it sold out), then the cost for the other tournaments, payable at the door, is as follows:
BOTH SIDE TOURNAMENTS - $15 each

Refunds will be offered through Eventbrite until 14 days prior to the event.
No refunds will be issued for any reason after that date.

If you are added to the waitlist and a spot comes open, you must respond to the Eventbrite notification withing 36 hours. Otherwise the spot will "Expire" and be offered to the next person on the waitlist.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND DETAIL for EACH Tournament:

Warmup Tournament is a Max Matchplay Tournament
It will be a Max Matchplay tournament followed by a small finals (details forthcoming).

Beat the Clock Group Matchplay Qualifying with Head to Head Double Elimination Bracket Finals:
Standard published IFPA rules for a Matchplay Tournament (using beat the clock timing) and for a Head to Head Double Elimination Bracket.
See details on the matchplay page for this tournament (when available).

Main Event Qualifying:
QUALIFYING is "group matchplay style" on Saturday.
This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
There will be 10 rounds withe 2 games per round.

Main Event Finals:
FINALS is "Group Elimination/PAPA Style", which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner).
This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.

Depending on a couple of factors to be determined as the event approaches, finals will either be the TOP 40 or TOP 48 players.

Either way, some of the top qualifiers will receive a BYE, so qualifying REALLY matters!

The discount for players 16 and under (per stated 2026 DFW League procedures) will be $15. Louis Marx will pay / refund this amount at the time of the event.

FOOD:
Two meals and some beer will be provided as already described.
If someone wants something different then they can bring it.
