About this Event
Join our artist-led mega-party as we create the warmest New Year: dance the night away to Sitar Power and MaMuse, add your memories and dreams to our constellation sculpture, grab a Chai or a cocktail at our bars, enjoy an open mic with live music, and thrill to midnight aerial dance and spoken word as we welcome in 2025-together. Splash out and get a VIP table, or grab a general admission ticket—be part of it all, knowing your ticket benefits working artists and supports The 418 Project’s vision: a world where all people feel safe being together.
Our Line-Up:
At this year’s Gathering in Gratitude we are excited to present a combination of musical mastery that will uplift you, body and soul:
Large Theater Mega-Dance Party: dance the night away! Featuring pop-up dance performances, reserved VIP lounge, spoken word with poet Lex Is Word and Mic Drop! Host Jessie-Marie, midnight aerial performance and more…
8:30 MaMuse: soul/folk revival duo MaMuse brings their full band, sharing unforgettable lyrics and soul-nourishing, rollicking beats that will get you up and dancing, and maybe even singing along.
9:45 Sitar Power: master sitar player Ashwin Batish performs Indian fusion music in two sets: first, an enticing traditional interlude to warm your senses, followed by high-energy rock/Indian mixture that will raise the roof and leave you shouting, laughing and sweating. Eminently danceable, Sitar Power features Meena and Keshav Batish and friends, including bassist Myron Dove (Santana) and other legendary players you’ve seen from some of the world’s top stages.
11:45 Ring in Midnight with MaMuse: bring in the New Year as MaMuse retakes the stage for a late-night prayerformance/dance set that is not to be missed!
Small Theater with Liminal Space Collective: Constellation of Memories and Dreams for the Future. Take a break from the beats in our chill space with soft lights, live music, cushy seats, and visual art. Liminal Space Collective’s friendly docents will supply everything you need to paint, draw and speak your memories of 2024 and dreams for 2025. Your contributions will become part of something larger: our NYE art will grow into a floating sculpture to be exhibited at The 418 Project lobby through June 2025.
Oasis Lobby: enjoy refreshments courtesy of India Joze and Movin and Shakin Cocktails, take a NYE selfie in our photo Casbah, and enjoy wandering artists, all in our Oasis Lobby with soundscape by DJ Electric Tomcat. You never know who you might meet.
Outside the weather might be rainy and cold…but in our warm, cozy, large multi-theater arts center, you can party down in your NYE finery: feel free to wear that short little number and those heels!
You can check-in get your drink tickets, and make use of our free coat and bag check all in one easy, central location, so you can fully enjoy your evening.
We’re next door to a 500-space garage, so parking is no-hassle.
And if power outages are a possibility, rest assured—we’ll have generators at the ready so the festivities can continue uninterrupted.
